                 Emminga Home

History of the home.

One of the founding fathers of this now small village was HR Emminga. A German immigrant that came to America in 1872
with his family and his dreams. His vision was one of prosperity. Though the land was owned by others before him, including
the railroad. He was the first to utilize the acreage, building the Golden Windmill. Known today as a National Landmark. He
built the beautiful Victorian Home for his wife and family.

The parlor resembles how it would of looked over a hundred years ago.  The current owner has done countless hours of
restoration to the home. There are theories that restorations stir up the spirits that once lived in the home. Could the children
of the Emminga family still be playing here?
