The Reveal of the Cunningham House  Investigation

                  November 7th, 2009 Clayton Illinois

Often it's by chance we find a new place to investigate. No matter how much we try to spread the word through leaving our  business cards at establishments  or add our group's name to the list of the many paranormal websites, word of mouth has been  our most successful avenue of discovering clients who need help with activity in their homes or businesses. The Cunninghams found out about our group by word of mouth and inquired into how to go about having us investigate.  At the time we were in the middle of an investigation of the Abby Rose Restaurant in Hannibal Missouri and had two events scheduled for The Villa Kathrine. We couldn't do the investigation in October but did schedule an investigation with the Cunninghams for November 7th, 2009.
The Cunningham's purchased their home two -three years ago. This may be a new home to them but the house and the property itself has a long history. First purchased on April 8th, 1836 , Charles K McCoy was the original owner of the property as far as the property records show. Mr. McCoy along with his brothers were part of the original  group of families who founded  Clayton, Illinois.  Daniel McCoy, the father of the McCoy brothers, was a soldier in the Revolutionary War and was the first person whose death was recorded in Clayton. Since the original purchase, the property and home has seen 25 different owners, not to mention all of the different families the home was rented out to during it lifetime.  This home has a long list of the living who walked the land and now it was our job to see if anyone of those people may still be walking here after they crossed.
Diane Cunningham's account of all the activity going on in the house gave us quite a lot of experiences on which to concentrate during our investigation. Most of the activity stemmed around her two teenage daughters who at the time of the investigation were not staying at the house overnight because of all the activity.  A listing of activity experiences by the family includes (but is not limited to) doors opening and shutting, loud footsteps on the stairs in the middle of the night, the sound of a ball bouncing in the upstairs hallway, a chair moving across the bedroom floor during the night, lights flashing off /on and last but not least, the apparition of a child. Much of the activity began during their remodel of the home, especially the removing of 12 layers of wallpaper on the second floor.
Our investigation of the house began at 10 pm on November 7th. The temperature outside was a balmy 58 degrees, unusual for the first week of  November. During our four hour investigation we experienced minimal personal experiences. Twice we had our video camera's batteries drain. We heard voices of someone saying something audible to our ears that was not one of our members on the team.  The upstairs we found to be extremely chilly even though it was rather warm outside, however, the upstairs had been closed off and the heat turned down since no one stays on the second floor anymore. None of this activity can be defined as paranormal activity so only the analysis of our recordings could back up any of these experiences.
And that they did. Our analysis backed up the owners claims of activity.  We have captured more evps in four hours at this house then we did our whole investigation at The Villa Kathrine. On November 22nd, two team members left equipment overnight in the house when no one was going to be home. With no one home and the camera pointed at the only doorway to the room, the camera moves by itself three times. So convinced were we of activity in the house that we invited two mediums, Les and Greg Haslem,  to come visit the family and their home of December 12th.
We have three pages dedicated to the Cunningham House Investigation.  The third page is dedicated to Greg amd Les's visit of the house and their findings. As committed as we are to go into an investigation using all of our technology and historical research in search of paranormal activity, we are also determined that this is a field where psychic research must too be applied.  Leslie is well noted in the field of paranormal research, she is not your typical medium who is out there making a living off of psychic mediumship. Her and Greg's concern, as was ours, was in helping the Cunninghams live comfortably in their home once again. Hopefully, together  we have succeeded in doing this for our clients. A week after their visit Diane Cunningham reported that the house was peaceful and now that they had a better idea of what was going on in the house, they were much more comfortable living there. We welcome all of your responses on this investigation through our guest book and we hope you find this case as interesting as we have.
