Many paranormal investigators do not believe in the use of dousing rods. Dousing rods have been used through the ages to find such things as water deposits. Some investigators feel that the use of dousing rods can be a clue to the energy emitted by a spirit. Dousing rods are very good in the detection of electrical current in power lines and buried cable.
Energy surges, either from the spirit world or from the electrical world can cause interference in camera and audio equipment. RTPS uses dousing rods to both prove and disprove theories.

Digital recorders are ued to attempt to capture sounds or voices, which often can not be heard by our ears. The belief is that the spirit world often communicates at a frequency that our ears can not hear, but can be captured on a tape player. These recordings are known as EVP's, or electronic voice phenomenon. All recordings are carefully listened to and any possible evp recordings are listened to again by several team members. All recordings on this site have not been altered from the original, except as noted.
