If you haven't read the blog entry regarding our "startle" the night of the investigation,  you might want to read this: http://rivertownparanormalsociety.net
/blog/?p=52 Than come back here to listen to the following clip, which was recorded during this same time frame.

This is a shortened clip from the above. What do you hear? Let us know.
*It may be interesting to our readers that this audio recordering was captured on a digital recorder some hundred feet away.

This evp was picked up on the digital audio recorder left at the Townsend-Gray house.  It's faint but we believe we picked up "Captain", a named used with admiration for Colonel David Moore.

This cropped photo is to show the distance from the Gray home (far right) and the church (to the right of the middle pine tree). The audio clip to the left of this page was captured at the church.

Another view of the Townsend-Gray House.  This is the location of where the dogs approached us.

The myth of the Hell Hound or the Black Dogs of Hell are well known. They surrounded British, Scottish and Welsh history since the 1500's. The myths themselves crossed the mighty pond and have existed in the US almost since the time of the Puritans.  Were we actually visited by the black dogs last September, we hope not for the stories are not favorable for ones who do meet up with them. Yet, we feel this is very important to note. The Black Dogs of Hell have often been associated with the Underworld. Their sitings have been often recorded near graveyards, near or on places that act like boundaries, like bridges, roads and old footpaths. They are also recorded as being seen near battlefields. These areas all fit the bill that night where we were investigating and the animals themselves seemed ghostlike wih no sounds what so ever.

A shortened clip of the reactions of the wildlife    that night, just before the "visitors" arrived.

Every wonder how you would handle a given situation? Earlier in the night, one of our investigators was discussing the "hounds of hell" and wondering how she would react if she ever faced the "red-eyed" demons. Well, this is the clip where she got the chance to see how she would handle an unexpected event. We still do not know where these animals came from, and can't explain their actions. But notice the reaction at the beginning of the clip to "unfavorable" comments made to "Grandfather."
