"Stop that!"
"That's strange"
One of our new tools for paranormal investigating is the ghost box. The use of the ghost has yet to be proven as solid evidence of paranormal activity but it is an interesting tool to use in the field. As this radio runs through all the AM radio frequencies without stopping on one station we ask questions to see if an answer to the question stands out from the rest of the transmissions. We used the ghost box for the first time at The Abby Rose and here is a sample of our results.
The Abby Rose is located at
110 N. Main
Hannibal, MO
Downtown Hannibal has been home to many businesses.
The hussle and bussle of people window shopping the
store fronts has changed over a hundred years. The first
occupant of the building in 1871, to the now Abby Rose
was GA Collins, a book store. In 1903 the space became
known as Albertson Dry Goods. From 1916 -1924 the
occupants was David Stewart"s Fine Furnishings and
China. In 1925 the space became a clothing store known
as Yates & Hagan Clothing Company. David Stewart
bought the downtown space back and started another
dept. store. The store front changed a few more times
and in 1935 was known as Barkett Furniture Store until
1956. The store then became The Famous, managed by
Helen Cohn. In later years her husband Harry became
president and Helen as vice president and secretary. In
1984 their daughter Marilyn took over the store.
