Tommy and Cindy Vahle purchased their home on the north end of Quincy last year because they could see the potential in the bones of the house. Neither of them are afraid of tackling such an undertaking because they could see the house as it once used to be. Built on property owned by a well known Quincy businessman, AC Bickhaus, the home has seen a multitude of different families and renters for the past hundred years. From the time it was built it has often housed more than one family at a time. Many homes we have investigated have always been single family dwellings but this home was primarily rental property. As we delve into more and more history of Quincy we find that this was not unusual in the bigger cities in the early 1900's. Times were hard and to own a home of your own would have taken a great deal of money. Many entrepreneurs saw the benefit of building homes for multi family units. One to house the growing population of a city and two to profit from that growth. So it was with the Bickhaus home. Many people came and left. From Oscar McGinley the well driller, to Louis Pottle who owned his own ice cutting business, from Arthur Coan who had his own real estate office to Mrs Josephine Pottle, the renowned pianist. From The Seybolds who lived in the home for over twenty years to all the partying young men and women who called this house their home in the seventies. No one person could begin to count the endless footsteps that walked these floors but could footsteps of one of the people from the home's still be heard?
The last tenants of the property left because of the voices, growling and footsteps that could be heard during the night. The Vahle's themselves began experiencing the sound of someone upstairs when they knew they were the only ones home. Loud voices arguing, heavy footsteps and lights being seen at night were some of the Vahle's personal experiences. Our first night of investigating did not produce evidence so we decided to leave our cameras running for twenty four hours while the Vahle's were home. The results at first were disregarded until a closer look was taken. For the first time our cameras captured the slightest of apparitions following psychic medium Greg Haslem. The Vahle's themselves have started to record videos of the area on the second floor with the activity and they are capturing something moving. Is this residual or is it intelligent? You decide.

The Vahle home becoming the home it once was through the remodeling of the home owners. Activity in the home increased after a back stairway that was walled up wasuncovered. Across the street from this home was where one of the safe houses for the Underground Railroad stood at one time. |
Because of the vulgar comment made, we are not posting what we think this evp says. |
